2014 Plymouth Winter Fest

THE 2014 PLYMOUTH WINTER FEST IS JANUARY 10, 11, and 12!

January usually means cold temps, and cold temps mean ICE! Each January Plymouth hosts a spectacular Ice Festival! Last year was too warm for ice...Hopefully this yer will be colder! Artists from around the world create amazing ice sculptures all around Kellog Park in downtown Plymouth. Amazing Ice Sculpures Mean Lots of Amazing Photo Opportunities! Dress warmly, bring a warm smile and your camera and we'll have a great time and make great photos together!

You CAN make great photos here at any time of day/night BUT early Saturday and Sunday morning is the least crowded time with easiest access to the sculptures! It's really fun and interesting to watch the artists at work and see these amazing ice sculptures emerge from blocks of ice! There are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area to grab some warmth and something to eat...Should be a lot of fun!

One of the things I want to do, next time, is take my speedlights with me. Mid-way through shooting, Thursday night, I realized it would have been very interesting to experiment with some off-camera flashes...perhaps with some different gels, too.

Jesy and I braved the thick fog this morning…It did finally start to rain at about 9am…I did manage to make a few pics before packing it up and waiting 'till later today or tomorrow to return.
