May image challenge: Creative Cropping

The photo challenge for May,Creative Cropping challenges you to think about the overall image and how cropping can change the look and feel of the image and final print (if you print).
When capturing a photo think about what is in the viewfinder and how would cropping affect the image. This can be as simple as shooting vertical vs horizontal, using the rule of thirds or shooting on an angle.
Another technique is to shoot the original image loose or wide and do your final crop using editing software. Remember when shooting an image you can always zoom in later in the computer or camera but you cant zoom out after the image is captured.
If an image is shot creatively you can get more than one final product from a single frame (a trick used by advertisement and commercial photogs).
Have fun with this challenge and subject matter is up to you.
Images can be submitted the week of May 6th -31st as well as voting for your favorite image. I will announce the winner based on your votes the week of June 1st.

thanx and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Hi Thomas! Has the winner been announced? I was curious because I changed my email communication setting recently.

Would not one have to submit (2) photographs to properly evaluate an effective crop? or a crop which changed the theme of a photograph? Otherwise how would one determine the effectiveness of the croppers (I am sure is not a word) selection related to the change made by the crop.

Mark has a good point, you can submit before and after crop images to show the effectiveness of the image.
