Hiking or Snowshoeing with Brand New Luxury Cabin Accommodations in Blackwater Falls State Park, WV
Blackwater Falls State Park is located in Davis, West Virginia. It features well over 20 miles of winter hiking and cross country ski trails, as well as a sledding hill and ice fishing opportunities. Some of the more scenic hiking trails lead to Elakala Falls, Pendleton Falls, and the overlooks at both Lindy and Pendleton Point. We will spend the day hiking by the frozen waterfalls and scenic points, and the evening curled up by a roaring fireplace in one of the park's new luxury cabins.
NOTE: Because of snow conditions, we might need to use either snowshoes or ice cleats such as STABILicers or MicroSpikes to hike the trails. MAHG has several pairs of loaner STABILicers, a few pairs of snowshoes, and some MicroSpikes to loan on a first come first serve basis for complimentary use, but feel free to bring your own gear. Cold (as in freezing cold) weather clothing and gear are required.
