How did you discover Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group (MAHG)?

Search thru meetups for hiking in the mid-atlantic

What are you looking for out of this group? (walks, transition from walking to hiking, easy, moderate, or strenuous hikes, ultra hiking, or trail maintenance work?) Please state all that applies to help us plan activities to meet your needs...

Mostly I''m looking for new people to hike with - beats going solo.

I like to hike! Prefer new places and challenging hikes. The outdoors is a big part of my lifestyle so I like it all - easier hikes to more strenuous terrain. I am interested in making friends who have similar interests.

WE are planning a bike ride with our grand kids, ages 12 and 8 this Sunday. They live in Catonsville; we are in Alexandria, so Columbia would be very convenient for us. Carly did the airport loop with no problems, so I think a 15 miler would be fine. Ethan is the 12 yr. old. He would probably like riding with others around his age. We are begining to bore him. I just consulted the calendar and see that there is one listed for next Sunday. Maybe we can do that.

Margaret: Glad to contribute to the continued life of this group. A word of caution, though. The organizer for another hiking group got in trouble with the IRS for not filing the proper paperwork and the feds saw the fees charged as personal income. Maybe you have already thought of this since you seem to be pretty thorough, but I thought I'd mention this just in case. See you in September!

Did you see the Hiking Around Baltimore Moon Light Hike at Gwynn Falls? Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 7 PM. Too rugged for my tastes, but I immediately thought of you.

thanks for your most recent post Margaret..I tend to want to walk, but also tend to "drag my feet" (what an expression :) I really enjoyed reading about the latest walk where you saw the bunny and deer. Hope I'll drag my butt out there soon. It was inspiring to hear about the fellow who's 73 and leading the pack. I'm 72 so now I have no excuse.

Thanks for the really great ride on Sunday. I wish my kids were about 15 years younger and could join the family bike rides - sounds like great fun. Would love to join another adult ride if one get scheduled and am thinking of trying the HoCO group sometime. Thanks again.
