First Robotics Competition, Hartford (Pit Pass Sign-up)

Mid-CT has been asked by the organizers of the First Robotics Competition to help out as photographers. This event is for ONLY MEMBERS WHO HAVE PAID THEIR CALENDER YEAR 2013 DUES! If you sign up for this limited event without paying your dues you will be taken off the list. Because it is a limited event, YOU CAN NOT BRING A GUEST.

First Robotics is a program to get children excited about Science, Engineering, math and technology.

First Robotics has requested that we have coverage for Friday March 29 & Saturday March 30 from 8am-5pm both days. We will have pit passes and we will organize the times for the passes. Available times are 8am-11am, 11am-2pm and 2pm-5pm. When you RSVP please put down in the comments section what time you are available. During the time you don't have a pass you are free to take photos in the public areas. That is a total 18 people

First Robotics has ask for copies of the photos taken for promotional purposes. If they use one of your photos, they will contact you and give you credit for your photo.

Richard Murkland and Bill Dillane are the co-hosts of this event. They will be setting up the schedules and be the point persons for Saturday. At this time we are working out the point person for Friday. As the event gets closer Richard and Bill will be sending out emails with information to the participants.

    A technical question for those who shot this event before at this venue. What kind of lighting are we dealing with on the exhibition room floor? The light levels from last year looked pretty good, with enough light for good exposures. Before I put together my kit for Saturday, I'm interested in the amount of existing light, contrast and color. Then I'll understand if I'll need any fill flash (depending on distance) or can go "Au Naturale." Any advice from last year? -Thanks!

    Looks like the 11-2 slot is Ira, Belinda, and Ed, per Richard's message. Lance is 8-11 and Venu is 2-5. I'll flex at this point to add my name to either 8-11 or 2-5 on Saturday, if that is possible at this point. I figure if I can do either of those slots it would add to the single photog presently assigned. Richard???
