Butterflies, tropical flowers, tropical birds, a few cute lizards. Did I mention: butterflies? These are some of the sights you will get to capture with your camera on this winter day.
For this early admission you may bring tripods, monopods, and other equipment, which you will be allowed to use until 9 am. After 9 am, only handheld photography is allowed. Early arrival also means cooler drier conditions, slower more cooperative butterflies, and no crowds.
Admission for the the earlier time is $20. You will need to pay in advance so that I can cover the deposit for this special event. You can pay via the Meetup site (PayPal) or contact me to arrange other payment means. The $20 admission will cover the entire day. You can stay as long as you want beyond 9 am.
In order for this earlier meetup to happen, at least 4 members need to sign up. This count does not include me. If signup does not reach 4, then this early (7 am) meetup will be cancelled. After we have reached at least 4 signups, I will send reminders for your payment. Payment and RSVP deadline will be 1 week before the meetup (Sat., Feb. 7, 2014).
• "Warm up" your camera before your arrival to prevent your camera lens / viewfinder from fogging up inside. Keep your camera inside your heated car (NOT in the cold trunk) on your way to the Butterfly Conservatory.
• Be prepared for very warm and humid conditions inside. It will get warmer as the day progresses. Short-sleeved shirts are highly recommended.
• (Optional) Wear brightly colored clothing to increase the chances of attracting butterflies.
• No outside food or beverages are allowed anywhere in the Conservatory. There is a cafe on premises, for those who need food or drinks.
