2nd Annual Dawn of a New Year

Not a Year's Eve partier?  What better way to welcome the New Year than taking its picture!

Hopefully this outlook with a lovely view of the Hartford skyline will live up to its name.  This part of Elizabeth Park is directly across from the Park entrance on Prospect.  You can park on the street as long as there is no snow or park in the Elizabeth Park lot across the street.

The address given is for the church next to the park.

12/27/12  An unavoidable change in family plans is going to prevent me from being back in town in time to join you, but I hope you guys get some great pictures!  -- Sue O.

The clouds added the right touch and gave the sunlight somethign to refract from The cold on the other hand added nothing to the experience! LOL, Nice to have met Rose, John & Dennis! 4 of us there and 4 different sets of views of the same landscape. Watching the light change as the sun rose was a nice way to start 2013.

Forecast is looking iffy, 76% cloud cover predicted. I'll check again in the morning, but it's not looking too good as of now.
BTW, DO NOT park along the road as it has signs that say no parking if there is snow and there is plenty of that!

According to my calculations, the sun will rise at about 7:20 AM but the dawn light will start long before then. According to the info I found, the sun should rise over the convention center as seen from the Park so it should be a good location with the sun just to the right of the tallest downtown buildings.
