I like to socialize with intelligent people who know things that I don't--things that I find interesting. I'm particularly interested in science.
Hi! I'm more of a humanist than an atheist but not crazy about what a lot of churches are doing. I enjoy meeting with intelligent people for conversation, as Jim Hong and Gerry Dunn know.
I'm glad when I meet up with those who designate themselves as humanists, whether agnostics, atheists or believers. I find plenty of common ground with them. Very intelligent people. Jim, the organizer, does a good job of reminding us of meetings, finding a good venue, setting up the sound and computer systems. It's harder to spend time with those who are fundamentally atheists, angry and defensive of their beliefs, just as I have a hard time dealing with a fundamentalist Christian who comes and harangues us with his beliefs. Still, I'm glad it's open to all.
