Birmingham Blog/Column Asks Readers to Weigh in on Prayer

Birmingham News columnist Joey Kennedy claims the goal of his life is to keep state and church separate, yet he derides the Freedom From Religion Foundation's request to keep prayer out of government meetings in Birmingham, Ala. The blog post is titled: "Upset about prayer at government meetings? Get over it!" He's set up a poll after his blog posting, and asked for public comment.

Kennedy's poll asks: "Should governmental bodies open their meetings with prayer?" Please take a moment to vote "No" in this online poll, and, if you wish, weigh in with a comment in support of the Foundation's complaint in Birmingham.

15% of Americans identify as nonreligious, and have a right to freedom from religion in government (American Religious Identification Survey 2008).
