Detroit Free Press Marathon Post Race Get Together

I wanted to throw out the idea of getting together after the race (half or full) in Detroit. It is so hard to find everyone at the end, so I thought we should have a way to start discussing some lunch/drink options now. Then we can have a plan to meet up and celebrate together.

Please post your ideas of where to meet, and then we can make it official the week before.

Thank you for putting this together, Chelsea. My boys fell asleep when we got to the car, so we figured we'd get them straight home. They've been up since 5 and walked a lot.

Hey thanks for everything. I had a wonderful time today. Who has the group photo of us at the restaurant? Please share. Thanks a lot.

I just put my name in for 24 people; otherwise known as "4 party of 6's". 1.5-2 hours wait

So, The Cheesecake Factory does not take reservations. :( It would be really great if some people that are doing the half could maybe volunteer to get to the restaurant and get our names on the list so they can set up a table for about 24 by the time the rest get there around 1-1:30. Thanks!!!

We might be able to do that, actually, because it might be us and a couple more people joining us. I guess we could finalize numbers that morning via this board or Facebook?

Less than 10 days until race day everyone!
If you plan on bringing guests to the after party, please add them to your RSVP so that I have an accurate count when I make the reservation next week. I would really appreciate it. Thank you!!!

Jen, I think that is a really great idea! Good job! Family friendly, drinks available, and food options for everyone. Plus, I agree that we need to get out of downtown. Plus Cheesecake Factory is always a large venue so that is good. I can make a reservation for it as we get closer once we have a more concrete number. Does anyone have objections or other ideas????

If we don't want to stay in downtown, a Cheesecake Factory opened in Novi! Which is on the way back to Lansing....

I'll be with my family, so I'd suggest somewhere family friendly where people can get drinks too. Maybe somewhere with a small banquet room if the numbers warrant it.
