I've had a request from a couple people to do this again, also realizing it's game night, but this is the only night this summer that Cooper's has the Belly Dancers scheduled, so...
Lets meet at Cooper's Landing for music and a bike ride or walk. There are two directions to bike/walk on the Katy Trail to choose from, such as ride east to McBaine(7mi) Huntsdale(9.2mi) or west to Hartsburg(8.9mi). We will use the buddy system and can group depending upon each persons ability for pace and distance. I'll have a KT map with me to help us decide and this is the Katy trail mileage chart online... http://www.bikekatytrail.com/mileage-chart.aspx.
Open mic starts at 2pm, so we can hang out for a little while, then around 3pm go on a ride or walk for about an hour. After that, meet back about 4 to do open mic another hour. Be sure to bring your guitar or other instruments so you can show off your talent. I'm not sure how early you would need to be there for the open mic sign up. If several in our group participates in open mic, we could postpone the ride/walk until everyone gets done singing and playing.
The Thai Kitchen is open 12:30 to 8pm, or there is a little store to buy snacks. I'll probably have a snack at the ride turn around point. I plan to stay late and will be eating a supper of Thai food around 6pm. Their shrimp spring rolls are very tasty.
Join up for any part or all of the event. Bring your camp chairs, since the picnic tables may get full. Stay as long as you like, there is music and entertainment until 9pm.
2pm – 5pm Open Mic hosted by Steve Meyerhardt
