Free beginner YOGA

Try something new that is easy, relaxing, and good for you. Gentle yoga is good for beginners, though even those more seasoned can enjoy the class too. This is an excellent way for men and women to learn the beginner poses to use in stretching, warm up, and cool down exercises.

If you have not done yoga before, you may want to sit closer to the front, so it is easier to hear.  Bring a yoga mat or a big beach towel to sit on.  If you don't have a mat,  there are a very few provided for trying out the class.  Just like before any exercise, it is better to not eat a meal.  You should never push a pose to the point it hurts.

The weekly class of 25 or so people is taught by an experienced teacher, who guides everyone to correctly do the poses. Two teachers, Jan and Alberta, take turns overseeing the class.  The room is quiet, usually warm, and dimly lit, which aids with calming and relaxation.  Wear lose stretchy clothes, like sweat pants or shorts and a shirt that won't fall up when you bend over to touch your toes.  If you have questions or ideas just post a comment.

Does anyone know if class is in the usual room or in the annex tonight?

I just saw your comment, but didn't know until getting there for class. It is usually upstairs, but is best to get there a few minutes early, to pick a spot or have time to walk across the street to the annex.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
