OK... So my note last week said it was the official start of our training but the fact is THIS week is technically the first week of training on the schedule for the SF Half Marathon. The schedule calls for four miles but most of us are doing more than that. Links to the schedule can be found below.
Don't forget to post your miles if you want us to track your progress.
The Mid-Peninsula Running Club has been around since 1988 to serve runners in the San Francisco peninsula (San Mateo County). We welcome new & experienced runners and run-walkers of various speeds.
Club members run together twice a week, as schedules allow:
Saturday morning runs @ Seal Point Park in San Mateo -Meet at 9 AM-Start run at 9:15 a.m. - typically run 6 miles "out & back" course from Seal Point to the San Mateo bridge and back. Meet at the far end of the parking lot by the restrooms (go to your left at the Seal Point entrance). Runners can add or subtract distance.
Thursday evening runs @ rotating locations on the peninsula-Meet at 6:15PM-Start run at 6:30 p.m. - see schedule for specifics. Typically these are 4 - 6 miles (bring flashlight in winter months).
NOTE: Club members are not trained professionals. All training runs & activities are attended at your own risk. The MPRC and its officers assume absolutely no legal responsibility for injury incurred at any event or meet up posted on this site.
Give us a try - we hope to run with you soon. For more information:
Membership to the club is available for nominal fee; you do not need to be a member to join us for training runs.
