January 6, 2012
I am looking to socialize/make new friends while doing something I enjoy. I like other things too (hoping to get back into SCUBA), but I always found gaming to be more "fun" for getting to know people. Plus, it's a year-round activity. I also fall into the age range of this group and am inclined to play good-aligned characters. I can't play evil. As an FYI on me. I haven't played in years, and when I did I played mainly Dungeons and Dragons (including the 3.5 edition). I no longer have any of my old gaming things such as books, dice, etc. and would need to re-equip. I am open to playing any game though. I might need a little patience as I learn a new system or rules however.
I think I can--depending on the time and dates of whatever group I can fit in to. I did a quick look at my 2012 calendar and see (for example) that I could make it every other weekend starting the weekend of January 13-15 pretty regularly until May--when things get a little crazy for me for a few weeks before going back to normal in mid-June. I also have a couple of trade shows I have to attend--but that won't be until late October.
I am looking to play. I doubt I will chat or lurk much on the board if that's okay.
I played RPGs in college and, for a short while a few years ago. I just moved in July and am looking to make friends and socialize while doing an activity that I've always enjoyed.
I had a lot of fun... things were the right mix of playing and joking around (table talk). And believe it or not, the fact that Corsair wasn't grumbling and giving you all "side eye" is a good sign. And she really liked Mike and even let Stephen pet her (trust me, this dog is suspicious of everyone, so if she likes you guys, you must be a good group). I can hardly wait until next session!
