DAM to DAM

Event Organizer: Hassan

Let’s celebrate our longest day of the year by riding from Percy Priest Dam to Center Hill Dam
We will start at the parking lot behind Percy Priest Dam (Greenway walking trial) ride to Center Hill Dam continue to Edgar Evins State Park.
We can climb the tower at the park welcome center and take a picture of the dam then Park's restaurant.

This 170 mile adventure will last approximately 7 hours, 5 hours of riding and 2 hours for stops.
We may be riding the freeways at 70 mph or some twisty roads with more than a 6% grade and a short gravel road. Please take this into consideration and be prepared. http://goo.gl/maps/HusvF

The road by the Caney Fork is a great ride on a hot Summer day. :)

Hi all just wanted you too know the road across the dam at Priest Dam is closed for repairs. If you are coming via I 40 get off at Stewarts Ferry go south. It will turn into Bell Road then take a left to the dam. Only about two blocks.

A big thank you to Hassan for scheduling and leading a great ride today.
It's always great to meet new folks and have a safe ride with laughs at stops.
I figure my lunch should be served any time now ;)

A great group for beginners and experienced riders alike. Hassan will review group riding signals and safety rules. A more experienced rider will follow behind to monitor the group, just in case assistance is needed. If the route is a bit too challenging, you may signal the sweep rider and drop behind or out until a later ride. There are helpful videos on the home page and other page links on this site. Look forward to meeting/seeing you all.

*IF* I don't ride up to Chicago for a wedding on Saturday, I will try to join you for the ride on Sunday. I am returning from a 7,000 mile ride to CommieFornia so it all depends on the timing.

That last time I dropped my bike, a cute female Medical at student from MeHarry said, "Can I help you with your motorcycle, Sir." LOL, I cut my seat down the next day so my short legs can reach the ground. I can ride the hell out of a motorcycle at anything over 4 mph!

I am interested in this ride, but I dont want to slow anyone down. I will have been back to riding for 3 weeks by next sunday, after 6 years without a bike.

You will be fine. I too have not rode a bike in many years, but it all comes back to you pretty quickly I have found. I have been riding for couple of months now from 40 years of not sitting on a bike (don't want to scare anyone, but I can ride it just fine..haha).
