Help Plant Apple and Pear Trees at Stewart Orchard in Bells Bend

Stewart Orchard is expanding from a small hillside in Ashland City to a beautiful farm in Bells Bend. The new orchard will be a pick-your-own with peaches, apples, pears, cherries and blackberries. This year’s goal is to plant about 200 pear trees and about 700 apple trees in the hopes of eventually having about 3000 trees. The Stewart's are not full time farmers yet and need our help in planting the large number of fruit trees they have planned in their new orchard which is located in the beautiful Bells Bend area of Nashville. DIRECTIONS: Take Ashland City Hwy to Old Hickory Blvd, turn south and go approximately 2.5 miles. Turn by the large barn on the right just past Tidwell Hollow Road as you travel south. The address is: 4496 Cleeces Ferry Road, Nashville, TN

There will be water, snacks and a small gift for volunteers. Please be prepared to get on your knees and get dirty! Gloves and maybe knee pads would be a good thing to bring. We will not work in the rain and will likely put the work off until Sunday of the follow week if rained out March 22.

For more details call Tatum Stewart of Stewart Orchard[masked]-2951.

Come plant a few trees or stay until all the trees are planted!

It was so much fun planting apple trees at Stewart Orchard in Bells Bend. It's good for the soul to dig in the soil and know we're giving a hand to our local food growers. Look for the Stewart's apples this fall at local farmers' markets.
