Meet the Organizers

JENN
GROUP FOUNDER & ORGANIZER

Hi Mammas! My name is Jenn and I have lived in the Middlesex area my whole life. I've been married to my amazing husband for 5 years and we have two adorable children, a 3 year old girl and a newborn son. We also have a very cute half lab half hound dog. I am a SAHM but also do some part time work on the side. I own an Event & Wedding Planning business, I do in-home pocketbook parties, I do some babysitting and I sell Avon. I guess you could say that I'm a busy Mamma!

Now a little about the group.. I started Middlesex Mammas in May 2006 and I'm very happy with the way it has grown. All of the Mammas and Munchkins who make up the group are absolutely wonderful. I wanted to start a group to meet other Moms in the area because most of my friends don't have any children yet and I can't believe all of the friendships that I have made so far. I'm also excited for my daughter to have so many playmates that she will grow up with. I want to give a big THANK YOU to my Assistant Organizers.. Middlesex Mammas wouldn't be where it is now without your help, hardwork and dedication. I hope to see everyone at upcoming events - it's always a great time!

AMEENA
ASSISTANT ORGANIZER

Hello Mammas! My name is Ameena and I am a mother of 3 great girls. My oldest is 13yrs and in the 8th grade, my middle child is 5yrs oldyrs and loves her new role as big sister, and my youngest is 15 months. I am a work-at-home/stay-at-home mom. I am a tax accountant so I work from home January through April and the remainder of the year I am a total stay-at-home mom. I LOVE spending all the extra time with my girls. My husband, Nicholas, myself, and our girls live in Woburn. I grew up here, and while I have lived in many places over the years (DC, MD, VA, and TX) I have returned to my hometown. And not only that but I live on the street I grew up on! I was a single mom for 6 years. Nicholas and I have been married for 6 1/2 years. Also, I was adopted as an infant from Lebanon and raised in an Irish/German family. So I have many different experiences to bring to the table. I hope that with all the roads I have traveled I am able to lend some knowledge and assistance to my fellow mommies. I am a very open person, so if you ever have a question feel free to contact me. We love to go to park, museums, and other fun venues. I am a history buff and this has rubbed off on Kayla so we tend to seek out historical locations to visit -- nothing wrong with having fun and learning at the same time!
As an assistant organizer I hope that I can help Jenn and the other organizers, so no one women has to do it all. And I hope to serve the mammas who are members - so any suggestions are always welcome! As a member I hope to make life long friendships through this group, for myself as well as my girls. I am already forming wonderful friendships with women I have met. I am very proud to be a part of this great organization and I look forward to new adventures with you all in the coming months!

LIANE
ASSISTANT ORGANIZER

Welcome to Middlesex Mammas! My name is Liane and I have been a part of this wonderful group since June 2006. My husband Jeff and I have lived in the area for five years, but didn't have many friends who lived near us. Once we had our daughter, it got harder to visit friends who were far away, or who didn't have children of their own. We realized we needed to meet other families who lived locally. That's when I discovered this group, and joining it has made a huge difference in our lives!

My daughter and I have both loved being a part of Middlesex Mammas. As a stay-at-home mom, I have really enjoyed the opportunity to get out and have some interaction with other moms and kids. I especially love the Mom's Nights Out! I think my daughter has benefited socially from being around so many other children with such a variety of ages. We have been to many different events, most of which were things we never would have done on our own. I'm so happy I joined this group and love all the friends I've made!

I look forward to being a member of Middlesex Mammas for a long time and to building more friendships for my daughter and myself. I also look forward to working with the rest of the Organizers to plan events and help keep this group running as smoothly as it has. As an Assistant Organizer, I hope to help other members find this group to be as rewarding and as fun as I have!

Hello! My name is Lisa and I have two girls, ages 2 and 4. I am originally from New York and moved to Massachusetts when I began dating my husband. We now live in Stoneham and I truly love living in the Boston Area. I stay at home with my daughters and am also in school part-time. I'll graduate with my bachelor's degree in Psychology this year and then I?ll take a year off before I begin my masters in Developmental Psychology. I enjoy spending time with my family and look forward to good times with my mamma friends!

I have met some amazing women through Middlesex Mammas. I never imagined that I'd make so many great friends so fast and that many of you would become like sisters to me. But that is just what happened. What I really love about this group is that we all have truly unique and honest friendships. Everyone is always so friendly, supportive, and helpful. It is so comforting to know that we belong to a great group of women who will be there to cheer for our accomplishments and be there to hold our hands if necessary.

I am proud and honored to be a part of the organizing team. I look forward to contributing to this already awesome group and working with Jenn, Ameena, JenC, and Liane.

JENN P.
ASSISTANT ORGANIZER

Hi Mammas :-) My name is Jenn and I am married to my handsome husband, Jeremy. We have a beautiful daughter named Simone Victoria who was born in August 2006. We also have a four-legged son... a 70lb Labradoodle named Bailey Jackson. The four of us moved from Tampa Florida to Watertown, MA in January 2007 because of Jeremy's career. He is a CPA and works in Burlington. Prior to becoming a mom, I was a Special Education teacher. I have taught 3th, 4th, 7th and 8th grades. My favorite grade to teach is 4th grade, and I love teaching Reading and Writing. In November, we moved from Watertown to North Andover and we are adjusting well to our new neighborhood!

Moving from the Sunshine State to New England... in the Winter... with a 5 month old baby, was very difficult for me, to say the least. I was devastated, leaving my family and lifelong friends, and all the comforts and familiarity of home. Jeremy worked like a crazy man at the office, and I was home alone with a baby. I did not know what to do to pull myself together, but I knew that I needed to make friends for myself and for Simone. So I decided to go online, and check out mom's groups. Finding the Middlesex Mammas was truly a gift from God :-) I remember joining the group, getting active on the message board, and I was so impressed with the way everyone supported one another. There were always wonderful stories being shared and advice being given. I could not wait to meet everyone, but I was a little nervous! In fact, I did not even go to my first event until about a month after I joined. I was seriously, so nervous! BUT... after I left my first play date, I remember calling my mom and saying, 'Mom... these girls were so welcoming and nice! I feel like I have known them forever!' I knew this was the group where I belonged!

As an Assistant Organizer for Middlesex Mammas, I hope work very hard along with Jenn, Ameena, JenC, Liane, Lisa, and Kelli to continue to keep this group strong and united! I hope to reach out to new members who may be a little nervous just like I was and say, 'Don't be nervous!! Let's go to an event together, and I will hold your hand if you want and introduce you to everyone!!' I know that you will agree that this group is so much more than a playgroup for our kids... it is truly a huge support system for all of us strong women who are traveling together in this crazy journey called motherhood! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions, need to vent, or if you want to talk about hot celebrity gossip or reality t.v. :-) Welcome to Middlesex Mammas!!!

JESSICA
ASSISTANT ORGANIZER

Hello Mammas! My name is Jessica and I have been a member of Middlesex Mammas since January 2008. I absolutely love this group and everything it stands for. It feels like one big extended family. You can count on any member at any given time for anything. It is a wonderful feeling.

I am originally from North Reading and moved back here after I got married. I have been married for 3 years and meet my husband when I was an accountant. Since then I have returned to school to become a RN. I was working full time but recently cut back to part time so I could spend more time with my son as well as a family. Liam is my son and he just turned two. I LOVE being a mom and being a part of this group. Liam does as well. We talk about going to play dates and he says “play with kids.” He gets so excited. So overall this group is for the mothers as well as their kids.

Motherhood can be stressful at times but it is a wonderful experience. Middlesex Mammas has helped me to make motherhood a wonderful experience. I hope I can do the same as a new Assistant Organizer. Middlesex Mammas has many opportunities from play dates to mom’s night out as well as family events.

I am honored to be a new Assistant Organizer. I look forward to helping this amazing group in the up coming year as well as many more to come. The current organizers have done a tremendous job with this group and I hope I can learn from them as well as help them. It can be overwhelming an intimidating at first with all these women but if you ever need anything or even a little encouragement to make your first event please let me know. Look forward to seeing everyone at upcoming events!

CAROLYN
ASSISTANT ORGANIZER

Hi Mammas! My name is Carolyn (lots of people call me Cara). I live in Tewksbury with my husband and our two sons who are almost 4 and 2. I am a stay at home Mom and plan on staying home with my kids until they start school full time. Before children, I was a kindergarten teacher and have taught reading and preschool as well. I graduated from UNH and then got my Master’s from Lesley College in Early Childhood Education. I loved teaching, but love being home with my kids even more!

I joined Middlesex Mammas soon after having my second child, when I was really finding adjusting to life with two little ones some what challenging. Honestly, I was very hesitant about joining a group online, but decided to take a risk, give it a chance and put myself out there and go to events even when I was unsure at the beginning. This group has been great for me and for the kids too. I was able to keep busy and interact with many Mammas in the same stages as me, sharing the challenges, accomplishments and joys of motherhood. I have made many true friends in this group and the boys have met lots of friends too.

I am happy to join the Middlesex Mammas team as an assistant organizer and hope I can give back to this group! I am glad to share this experience with so many wonderful Mammas and hope I can make a difference for others as part of this team. I am looking forward to contributing ideas, planning events and working with the organizers who have already made this group as wonderful and successful as it is today!
