Cook-Out at Winding Hills Park

This is a great place in the county to grill, eat, boat, fish and just hang out.  Let's plan a nice afternoon and enjoy each others' company.

I'll bring the burgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments and the charcoal, maybe corn.  You bring the side dishes, desserts or beverages (alcohol use requires a one-day liquor license, so, plan accordingly.  Contact me by email for further details.)  If you bring your own plate, cup and utensils, we won't have to worry about buying paper goods or having too much to clean up.  Please post what you plan to bring so others know what may be needed.

If you plan on grilling something other than burgers and hotdogs, such as a vegetarian alternative, let the griller know early to leave you a spot on the grill.

I plan to go early to secure a good spot, and I could use the company and a hand, if anyone wants to assist me.  We'll meet in the parking lot, though. I will post further details the day before.

Cost: $5.00-$6.00.

Even with the raindrops I had such a nice time. Good food and conversation and a short hike to make room for Marcello's pasta salad and Marina's pie.

Great group, very welcoming, great conversations, and the weather gave us a huge break.
Thank you Marina, and I accept the "reservation". Questioning it's, always, a good thing.
I wish to all a great Sunday.

Hey gang - why don't we just do it!! There's probably a pavillion to go under if it rains. For everyone who's prepared stuff, I'm sure they'd just like to use it. Who knows, like when we were kids, maybe we can tell scary stories in the rain (just kidding!!) We must be driving poor Lorena crazy.

Goshen is looking ok right now--I live close enough to show up and if it gets real nasty I can come back home, however, it's not such an easy decision if you live a distance. I'd feel better if there was shelter if needed. That being said I plan on going.
Thought I'd have to worry about getting a sunburn--oh well

    July 12, 2013

  • Angela

I say don't cancel. I think we'll be fine. The parking lot is right next to the picnic area so we can always go to our cars for a few minutes if it rains.

I have posted the correct address. The Park is across the road from the golf course/restaurant. Once you enter the park, past the guard house, just continue straight on the road, past the lake to the very end. That is where you'll find the picnic area.

    July 8, 2013

  • Angela

Lorena, I'm a little confused about the new location. It shows it being at the Restaurant at Winding Hills which is a little before the park, parking lot, and picnic area. Is the new address we're we'll be setting up?

    Hello to everyone.
I was thinking to prepare a bowl of a classical summer pasta dish, with short pasta, like fusilli, or farfalle, with vegetables, capers, tomatoes, olives and etc.
    Or some breaded veal cutlets.
Let me know, and most requests will win.
By the way, there are any 4th of July parties?
