I had went to church yesterday and prayed for our group. Yes Barbara is doing a great job. Any other people that I meet say yes dating is difficult and confusing but I am trying to break that barrier somehow. Some say I try to hard but if I don't try at all I will feel that I did not try to accomplish something. Some say it will come when it comes don't look for it but I am a go getter and meeting someone that I can spent quality time with is still an important goal for me. I always do nice things for people and don't want to be ignored or rejected.

This was my 2nd meeting, and I enjoyed it more than the first.

Barb, you're a very talented moderator. I admire your knack for keeping the conversation flowing and lighthearted.

I'm a repeat offender. And I keep coming back for more! We all have questions about the mystical, mysterious topic of meeting/dating. In some ways nothing has changed over the years between the genders, but the playing field is different and the rules have somewhat changed. I think we all gain from each others experiences. And hopefully, we all will gain some insight in how to navigate this pothole filled road to relationships. It's a road that not even "mapquest" can help. But we can help each other. Let's keep the lines of communication open.

My first time and have to say it was a lively 'sharing' group.

I know there was some pre-mtg discussions on the different venues, but I thought the library worked well for the group. Pleasant room, good space, and, bonus, some attendees got to check-out books!

This was terrific. I had not laughed this much in 6 months. Our host was wonderful moderating and leading. I thought I was the only one challenged by dating in 2014. I will come back.

So glad I'll be able to come. Looking forward to it!

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at Indian Trails. There are 4 people on the waiting list (Cheryl, Steven, Carrie and Rhonda) and I would say if you are still interested, please join us. Even though we have a full group signed up, there have always been some "no-shows". I would assume that will still be the case. If not, we will figure out...

I look forward to meeting many of you, when you are in Glenview again. It makes sense to have meetings at many different places, since the members are so geographically dispersed. Barbara, I am impressed with the variety of activities!

Hmmm this is very interesting. I notice a number of charged comments and complaints about distances, locations, even talks of splitting up. I think we might be getting into dating psyche already. No wonder it may be so hard to date, even a group to discuss dating is bringing up things. :-))

Barbara, I'm really torn about this one as it is the day of the Greater Chicago Jewish Festival (http://www.pocet.org/) which only happens once every two years.

    • MARLA P.

WOW!!!! I just checked that website and it looks great. I think I might have to bow out of this meetup and go to this festival myself. Thanks for letting me know, Sid.

Pam has asked for assistance in bringing drinks to the June 8th meeting. The other alternative is for those who are coming to bring their own. Any comments or thoughts?

I would be fine just bringing my own.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday. From the past meetings it seems that there are many who sign up and don't show so I would ask that if you are not able to attend please reply no so those who are wait listed can join.
    Thanks

Count me in for June 8 at Indian Trails and July 27 at AHMLibrary. This group is far more economical than seeing a therapist. And a nice group of individuals!

    4 · May 7

    • Alan

If you need a therapist, you should try Jewish Children and Family Services in Northbrook. They offer sliding scales.

      May 7

    • Shelly

If I do any sliding, I'm going to stick with softball. Thanks, Alan.
