Bringing Downtown Back with The Original OKRA Charity Saloon

So, the new Charity Saloon is touted as a true Charity Bar in Houston. All proceeds are noted as given to local charities.  What a fantastic concept!  And located in a magnificent, restored downtown location, Charity Saloon, all of 6 weeks old, is a welcome edition to the downtown scene. So, let's check it out and if we need to, we have several additional, nearby walkable options -- LaCarafe, Warrens, Hearsay -- to continue the evening. So, do your part and come have a drink for charity!!

Update: This is an amazing building and the charity concept rocks. One caveat is that they only have either a Red or White Wine, just 4 beers on tap, BUT they do have 20 'Classic' cocktails they'll pour. Think Classic, though. So, let's check out this amazing bar and have a drink for charity but let's also plan to walk somewhere else nearby around 10ish just to expand on either the beer or wine choices...The Cocktails here are definitely King.

There is $5 garage parking in Market Square by the outdoor Niko-Niko. Usually street parking which is free after 6 pm. Charity Saloon is one block from Market Square. On Congress between Market Square and Main St. Look for the number 924; it does not have a sign.
