This wonderful meetup group is ending-- A few players are regulars at this bar and might continue-- drop by some month and look for the ladies in tiaras and mahjong tiles--Ever heard of the tile game called mahjong? 4 people playing with 144 tiles-- but we can teach you to play with 3 or even 2 people.
It's a galaxy removed from the computer mahjong!
This group will play ONLY using the "Improve your mahjong" book by Patricia Thompson and Betty Maloney-(Try to purchase this book online)-There will be around 50 hands we will play-If it's not in the book -- we won't play it-no cards-no betting-- scoring is important so we will teach you how and most of our sets have chinese tokens to use instead of cash.
We will teach novice players- We have several mahjong sets available-- bringing your own mahjong set is fine--
We will regale members of past mahjong games and quirky mahjong stories!

So let's meet a little later so everyone can grab something to eat first-- you can try the vietnamese restaurant next door-- it's great and quick-- but Khon's does do a great cheese plate--
i'll be MIA for a few months so Nov 19 this meetup group will close-- Some of the faithful mahjong players will continue to meet at Khone's on 3rd thurs nights and if you come you can get information on other mahjong games during the day
