Are you searching for "your people"? Are you tired of the locals telling you "You have Eastcoast energy"...and it doesn't seem like a compliment? Are you tired of the locals not understanding your Midwestern sense of humor or being suspicious of you because you're so friendly? Then this is the group for you! If you grew up or spent a significant amount of time in the Midwest or on the Northern Eastcoast then chances are you find the local flake factor and inability to commit to much tiresome, you're likely annoyed by the passive and sometimes even passive-aggressiveness of the Seattle culture, you're likely not afraid to voice your opinion (because that's how we do, oh you betcha)...and you've likely been wanting to connect with your homies. So, let's get together for happy hours, potlucks, board game nights, picnics, watching the game at a bar, voicing opinions in our sexy homeland accents, catching a movie or what ever else grabs our attention in this fine city. Let's face it, we like it enough here to stay (nothing to shovel!) but we need to stay connected to our beloved homeland, so let's band together and show the Pacific Northwesterners how it's *really* done. Singles, couples, families, straight, gay...all homies welcome! ;0)  Please note, your real first name and a photo in which your face is visible and recognizable are both *required* to join this group.  The purpose of the group is to make friends after all!  Please take a few minutes to read through the group's "House Rules".

Finally, kind of surprised we need to clarify this but the Midwest is: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

For the purposes of this group, we're considering the Eastcoast to be the *Northern* Eastcoast: Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virgina.

While some consider North and South Carolina, Georgia and Florida to be the Eastcoast, as well, but those states are much more culturally Southern.  The goal of the group is to connect with people with similar energy and culture and Meet-Up already has a thriving Southerners in Seattle group. Thanks for your cooperation.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
