Mike's Wino Club is a gathering of wine enthusiasts who desire to learn about wine, taste amazing juice, all in a group setting. The organizer & moderator Mike is the owner & head sommelier at The Cask Room in East Village, San Diego.
The group tasting/education format represents the perfect marriage of interaction and personalization. We'll all learn from each other and have an amazing time. Each session has a different theme. All wine & food is provided for a per person fee.
The goal of this group is to introduce you to new ways of thinking about wine: regions, varietals, history, blending, etc. It's meant to break you free from the chains of only drinking familiar estates or labels.
The group format lets everyone discuss each wine, looking at things in a new way, as well as being able to ask the moderator any questions about wine they might have on their mind. It's also a great way to meet some like-minded people. Each bi-weekly meetup will have a maximum number of winos as to maximize the interactions.
