Sea-Men Swim &

Solstice Party

(#SeaMenSwim)

Saturday, June 21st 2014

Join the MBD Crew as we celebrate length on the longest day of the year.  If You think You have what it takes to become a MBD "Sea-Man", take the challenge and make the long swim across Lake Willis.

Food - Chicken, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Corn on the Cob, Curly Fries

Fun - Boating, Wakeboarding, Hang Gliding, Volleyball, Swimming, Tubing, Deck Jumping, Live Music

Friends - Neighbors, Coworkers, and Invited Guests.

Join the MBD Crew for an all-day party on Lake Willis, near Sea World.  Bring your sunscreen, water wear, and dress for a picnic.

Children are welcome, but are not guaranteed a G-rating after sunset.  If your child grew up without cable, they may be surprised by the antics on display.  As in all parenting, discretion is advised.

The MBD "Sea-Men" swim is a physically demanding event and is not advised for pregnant women and/or drunken sailors.  Do not attempt the swim if You are not a strong swimmer or have limited stamina.  The "Sea-Men" swim is not a race but an endurance challenge.  Chase boats will be monitoring the course looking for anyone suffering from performance anxieties or otherwise wishing to pull out early.

There is nothing more a host could do to make a better party.

We are honored and humbled to have such an amazing group of Friends. While Nylia and I get the spotlight...MBD is truly a collective effort! We could not do it without You...and only do it because of You. Looking forward to seeing You all again on July 4th. Until then, Live Large!

Thank You Everyone for Another Awesome Event at The Lake!!

Robb and Nylia along with Niki, Marcus and Mike as hosts and neighbors are the definition of top notch in generosity, attention to detail and all around coolness!! Who else could pull of a 3/4 mile lake swim with 30-50 swimmers, awesome food and adult beverages for over 100ish people, live bands, volleyball, multiple boat rides, barges, validating, wake boarding, deck diving, and oh so much more for what is one of their "small events" and make it look easy...?

  • Marlann L.

I was wondering if we bring our own food or is pot luck or is there a charge for food?

    June 20, 2014

    • Robb E.

@Marlann...yes, yes, no...we will have burgers, dogs, corn, curly fries...there is usually a point in the festivities where the cook ( me ) loses the ability to operate the grill ( and the ability to stand, talk, or form cogent thoughts )...when that happens, it's every man for himself...there is a grill available should You choose to bring your own favorite food...and we welcome all items brought for the common good.

How long will this last until?

    June 20, 2014

    • Sir P.

Well I only ask because I have another event from 2-5, so would it worth it coming around 6-7PM, or would most of the activities be done by then?

      June 20, 2014

    • Robb E.

@Sir Pritam...the swim should be over, but the party will just be getting started.

Anyone planning to bring a boat or jestski on Saturday?

    June 17, 2014

  • Robb E.

Hey Gang...thanks for the early entries. As this is our 1st official swim and we want to be prepared for any size load of MBD Sea-Men, please reply to this comment if You ARE attempting the 3/4 mile swim across Lake Willis. No need to comment if You are just coming to party. Live Large!

Is this up and back and how long is the lake?

    May 9, 2014

    • Robb E.

It is a one-way trip across the lake...from the old MBD to the new MBD...takes about 40min ( distance ~.75 miles )

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
