General Meetup

Normally for our general meetup we bring in whatever we're working on for a little bit of show and tell. We share ideas and brainstorm a bit. There's also general discussion and collaboration on new project ideas!

    Also, tonight I'm bringing my original prototype for Underminer! Those of you who have seen my recent work will now be able to see the context for what I've been creating it for.

    Maya, Chris and I are going to try and combine some assets for a small game concept, maybe it'll have legs and others would want to get involved too!

    Finally, I can also demonstrate how an SVN repository works for keeping your game projects in sync when working with a team.

    If anybody else wants to present, I'm starting a list to schedule presenting time so that everybody has time to show their work.

    Here's library which manages assets used in a game so that you can reduce the initial install size of the game. It is fairly advanced and can be used to minimize the footprint of the game. It's specific to Objective-C and iOS but you may find the concepts are useful and can be built as a cross-platform solution.

    By the way everybody, be sure to use the elevator in the lobby to get upstairs. Last week Chad used the stairwell and found all the doors locked. Luckily we were close by and heard his knocking. The elevator is right in the lobby at the Market St. entrance.
