Musical Meditation Experience with Lila (Marty Tribble & John Arms).
You may have experienced chant already, repeating the same phrase over and over with a group to achieve a desired result...like 'GO TEAM GO!' The chanting of mantra works in the same way. In kirtan, we repeat empowering, positive phrases (in Sanskrit as they originate from ancient yogis in India) together, set to beautiful melodies that bring us to a state of balance. We feel more peaceful, lighter, and relaxed. And ANYONE can participate.
Kirtan is a participatory experience of musical meditation for people of all spiritual backgrounds, beginners are welcome! Come discover this soothing and uplifting practice and see why the Midwest is falling in love with kirtan. This is a musical offering; dress comfortably for floor sitting and/or movement/dance if you are so inspired!
We invite you to join us after kirtan for a yummy vegan potluck to follow, bringing a dish is option and all are welcome to stay and enjoy the food. If you plan to contribute, bring a vegan dish to pass, including an ingredient list (for those with allergies) or recipe if you would like to share. Vegan = no animal bi-products (if an animal made it or it comes from an animal's body, it's not vegan). We encourage choosing gluten-free dishes to accommodate those with gluten sensitivities. Core Essence Yoga has a full kitchenette with refrigerator available, you can plug in a crock-pot or place your dish in the oven warmer if bringing a hot dish. If you have questions about the potluck, contact Marty at[masked]-1347.

John Arms and Marty Tribble, RYT were brought together by what some might call serendipity or chance; but the yogis of ancient times recognized such a happening of 'organized chaos' as lila, a Sanskrit term that translates as 'divine play'. Drawn together from a mutual love of yoga and kirtan, these two empowered individuals have cultivated a divinely orchestrated union of two devoted hearts and soulful voices.
Together they bring a fresh, connected approach to yoga community, fusing the principles of wholistic lifestyle, mindful yoga, and musical meditation.
Practicing with John and Marty, you may find yourself like so many have before: Stepping on the mat and feeling a sense of homecoming, stepping off the mat feeling inspired, nourished, refreshed, and grounded--ready to take your true self out into the world.
Marty Tribble, RYT, has been sharing her passion for yoga practice since 2003. She teaches experientially and intuitively, tuning in to the divine spark within each student to ignite the relevant sequencing and inspired dialog that are her hallmark as a teacher. Marty's longtime classroom experience is evident in her ability to approach teaching with humility, precision and joy, often using humor to connect with students and bring a sense of lightness to the most challenging postures. Marty's intention is to create within the classroom a sacred space in which students can disarm themselves, realize their limitless potential and unleash their passion for living.Connect with Marty for Life Coaching, Thai Yoga Bodywork, Personal Yoga & Meditation, FLYoga and Plant-based Living at www.martytribble.com.
JohnArms, LMT,came to yoga after 20 years on stage as a professional dancer, to heal his body after a serious dance injury. Through yoga he was exposed to kirtan...and the rest is history! He quickly formed a deep love for this healing practice of musical meditation. As a self- taught guitarist, he was amazed at thisstyle of music's ability to move his very soul and soonbecame involved as a musician in his local (Madison, WI) kirtan scene. Since 2009, John has played alongside many local and international kirtan artists including Wade Morissette, Marty Tribble, Kaita Bliffert, and Ragani. He began leading kirtan in 2011, bringing his own fresh acoustic melodies to the kirtan scene and was recently featured at the Milwaukee Area Kirtan Festival.Connect with John for bodywork, FLYoga, and Plant-based Living at www.johnarms.com.
