Drum Jam for the Alzheimer's Walk - Not a drum circle...

Oct 5, Sat - Drum during Alzheimer's Walk Great Fun last year.  Here's a chance to use your community drumming for a great cause...creating music and generating excitement during the annual Alzheimer's Memory Walk. Tom Gill of Rhythm For Unity is inviting a handful (or two handfuls) of drummers to provide some "Incentive Rhythm" at one of the water stops for the Alzheimer Walk.  The organizers requested the drumming "en route" in Hoyt Park like we did last year so that people can be greeted by rhythm as they approach one of the water stops.  Parking is available and there will be chairs.   RFU will bring extra percussion that we can share and invite walkers to stop a minute and Get Their Groove On...please bring your own big drum if you have one...last year it was chilly and if so again, I will bring synthetics that could care less about a little frost on the pumpkin!  Bring gloves if it will help you keep on drumming!Hoping for at least 6 to have a good, full sound!  Let me know if you are interested. [masked] or email [masked]

Reporting: Our magical ensemble was comprised of a handful of drummers representing RFU joined with a handful of elders who are afflicted with Alzheimer's. We drummed a little over an hour while thousands of walkers sashayed past, sometimes stopping to join us with percussive passion... ie, it was just about as good as it gets!
