I think that if you are a job seeker or even an HR professional JobCamp is the best place to be. It motivates and puts in perspective things that are going on in the hiring market and how it relates to you.

Great newer way of networking. Much better than Career Fairs, which have their place but are not really meant for networking. At the Job Camp, you get to meet all types of people with various backgrounds. As a bonus, there are opportunities to take part in guided discussions about specific topics, geared to YOUR needs, along with great speakers.

Good information for resume writing, mock interviews and obtaining insight as to what employers are looking for and how to capture their eye with your resume on the first attempt. The intermission was uplifting with the sports comedy - they did a wonderful job. Overall I enjoyed making aquaintances with many talanted individuals.

This is an opportunity to get "honest" feedback on interviews, social engineering, sites, elevator speeches. In addition, it is also an excellent opportunity to reach out and meet others in the industry and learn more about the trends.

What a FABULOUS Event! To all of you who worked countless hours working out every little detail and endeavoring to make JobCamp2 the best experience possible for job seekers in southeast Wisconsin - you did it! Every single person I have spoken to has raved about how valuable it was to their job search. JobCamp2 was an event that energized job seekers who have had an especially tough time this year. You found fabulous professionals that helped with resumes, mock interviews, presented new ideas, taught social media, took LinkedIn photos... and the wide variety of speakers inspired hope and new ways to approach job search in the almost 800 attendees. Thank you to every volunteer that generously gave their time to plan every minute, find sponsors, make phone calls, promote, staff the tables, speak, register, take in food, dispense info, schedule interviews, and especially to Todd, Angela and Dave -- congratulations on a FABULOUS EVENT for job seekers in southeast Wisconsin.

This Meetup Group is wonderfully diverse and the Job Camp experience was nothing short of fantastic for me. The people who organized this event are truly commited to helping people get through these tough economic times and are very willing to share their time and expertise with others in their job searches. Others should join this group to reap the benefits of that expertise and to do the networking so vital these days to finding the opportunities available.

There were many people attending this event and the speakers were very thought provoking. In addition to doing some networking, it was like a breath of fresh air to hear the speakers share material with us that made us think about ourselves, our job search, even our life in ways we haven't previously thought of them before.

Job hunting is always difficult, you have lost one community in your workplace and building new relationships is crucial. Networking keeps you connected, focused and supported. That support can be the accountability to keep seeking, hold you to your own goals, and it turn help someone else.

My thought is that if they provide these type of workshops, then this should provide a real benefit to a large group of people that have been impacted by the economic slowdown.
