Up to Speed with SilverStripe 3

Finally, a CMS that treats designers, developers, and content authors with equal respect! For the programmer at heart SilverStripe speeds development time by relying on convention over configuration yet is still highly customizable. Designers fall in love with its powerful templating and precision control over markup. Content authors will appreciate its usability tested, intuitive interface. SilverStripe is truly a user-centered CMS, in all respects. To top it off, it’s also open sourced under the BSD software license.

This talk will get you up to speed with SilverStripe’s past, present, and future. Novices will walk away with a stronger, broader grasp of SilverStripe and more advanced SilverStriper’s can pick up a few tips and tricks.

Ryan Wachtl (@ryanwachtl) has been working with small-businesses, start-ups, and non-profits on a myriad of projects ranging from branding and business development to e-commerce marketing and full-stack web development since 2007. He’s an avid SilverStripe user, advocate, and core contributor.

Ryan clearly is commited to Silver Stirpe, as a Drupal user it would have been nice to know why Ryan selected this CMS development platform as opposed to others available. Once you put in the time on any CMS its hard to find the time to switch or even look at others unless there good reason to do so.

Good overview of Silverstripe. It was clear that Ryan knew his subject matter inside and out. I enjoy seeing that in a presentation.

Thanks for the presentation on SilverStripe Ryan! I think I still prefer Joomla, but it's nice to know more about what's out there. I think now that I know more abut what's under the hood, I may check SilverStripe out from a customer point of view.

If I were to give any constructive criticism, I would have liked to have seen a little more coverage on SilverStripe as to how it benefits the customer. I know it's a PHP group, but I think that is still important.

    Very well presented. Thanks again!
