Get a Hammer for that Nail!

You're starting a new project from scratch, but you're not sure what framework you want to use. Maybe you don't want to use a pre-existing framework at all. Maybe you should use a microframework, or roll something out on your own instead. How do you know which direction to go in and which tool to pick from your PHP framework toolbox? In this fun and 100% interactive discussion, we'll solve those problems together, and help make sure you get the right hammer for your nails. Volunteers will be rewarded.

This month we have a special guest - PHP Luminary Liz Naramore! Liz currently works for the premier PHP PaaS provider EngineYard. She's a co-founder of phpWomen & is an active member of OINKPUG (the Ohio, Indiana, and Northern Kentucky PHP User Group). A frequent speaker at tech conferences and online seminars, she's bringing her expertise to MKEPUG Tuesday, September 11th at 7pm.

To mark this event, MKEPUG cordially invites members of neighboring PHP user groups to join us at Bucketworks, hence the later start time to allow for their travel.

Informative, but was a bit slow

Liz Naramore did an excellent job facilitating a frameworks discussion in an interesting way. On the whole, the discussion left a little to be desired. I think as a group we did not perhaps have enough experience with frameworks, or maybe just not enough context. But I still left the discussion with a better appreciation for one framework and able to rule three out from any future consideration.
