Discover System Administration

Throughout 2014 we are going to set a monthly theme instead of choosing speakers and random topics.  Everyone is encouraged to contribute to the theme:  give a lightning talk, demo a project, lead the discussion of a research topic, whatever etc.  The themes are not meant to restrict the meetings, rather to cultivate ideas and inspire people to share knowledge.

The topic of System Administration can cover anything related to using Perl for doing sys admin:  command line tools, useful CPAN modules, pitfalls to avoid, Perl for Windows, etc.

Join us at 6pm for PerlJam where we go over beginner level topics.  The topic for this month has yet to be determined.

I'm double booked for Wednesday night. I'd recommend as topics both Docker and LXC (Linux Containers) or just as a heads up for others to go look into.

I've mentioned before that Linux containers is something that's been going into the kernel proper for many years. A more recent article on the topic is here: https://lwn.net/Articles/588309/
