Can there ever be too much wine? I wouldn't think so. But after this week of three wine tastings in a row and add a birthday dinner on top of that, I was so glad that I had no plans yesterday where I could rest and de-tox for a day.
It allowed me some time to reflect on the time spent at these tastings having met some of our newer members and seeing some old faces again, as well as being so thankful to our Bracket Leaders for having stepped up to open their homes to taste some of the wines in our March Wine Madness competition.
If you haven't signed up for any of these tastings yet, there is still an opportunity to attend the Smooth Red Bracket Tasting this next Saturday. If you love reds, this tasting will prove that not all smooth reds are boring, and if you are typically a white wine drinker who has wanted to brave the red region, then smooth reds are the perfect opportunity for you to begin to discover what all the fuss is about with red wine! RSVPs will close for this event on Friday. Sign up and bring a friend!
If you have attended any of the Bracket Tastings thus far, do not forget to vote by the end of the day, March 2nd for your favorites in all or just one of the brackets. You can find the link to Bracketeer by going to the 'More' tab on our website and click on 'Files', then select the Bracketeer link which will take you straight to the voting page. You do not have to vote for each pair up. Just vote for the ones you tasted or are familiar with and if you choose not to vote between two wines click next on the bracket to the right of the current wine selections.
Did you attend the Blind Tasting at Vino100 this last Friday? I hope you enjoyed it. The last three wines were rather surprising. Dennis did a good job of making us really use our nose and palette on those reds.
If you enjoyed the Blind Tasting at Vino100 or any of the Bracket Tastings thus far please take some time to rate and review these events, if you have not already done so. New or potential members always appreciate comments. So, the time you take to complete them is greatly appreciated.
For the month of March I will be putting together a wine tasting at The Ruby Tap in Wauwatosa, since the finale' of our March Wine Madness event does not conclude until April 6th. The tasting at The Ruby Tap will be scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd in the late afternoon. I am still working out the details, but the event should be posted some time this week. Be sure to check back soon and sign up!
... In Vino Veritas!
