Just a reminder to all of our MWL members that next week, January 16th our membership dues will increase from $5 per person to $7 per person and $12 per couple. You can avoid paying the larger membership fee amount by paying your 2013 membership dues at the current 2012 $5 rate by January 15th of this year. You can make payment by clicking the PayPal link just below "Membership Dues" found on the left side of our webpage.
Membership dues not paid by January 15th will be required to be paid at the new rate three days prior to the next scheduled event that you RSVP to. If a waiting list ensues for an event and membership dues are unpaid, those members on a waiting list with paid membership will replace the members with unpaid dues at the deadline date, and an email will be sent to those members whose reservation has been canceled. This is to prevent having to collect membership dues at an event.
You can avoid paying membership dues in 2014 by hosting an event or volunteering to assist with an event during 2013. Those that have hosted or assisted this year will have their dues waived in December.
There have also been a couple of new policy changes made beginning 2013 and I encourage all members to read the new policy by going to our "Pages" tab on the website.
I have copied the two sections below where the most changes have been made. However, I encourage you to read the membership policy in it's entirety just to refresh your memory.
New members may enjoy a one-time complimentary attendance to their first event prior to paying their membership dues, unless they have already attended a previous Meetup as a guest of another member. New members are strongly encouraged to attend their first event within the first three months of joining.
Annual membership dues are currently $5 per person. Membership dues are scheduled to increase after January 15th, 2013 to $7 per person or $12 per couple. Membership dues are required to be paid before attending your second MWL event. This fee helps to off-set the costs of maintaining this website and coordinating events. All unpaid membership dues must be paid within three days prior to attending your second event. Each year membership dues will be re-evaluated and the price adjusted to cover forecasted costs.
