WordPress 3.5 was just released. By the time we gather for this meetup everyone will have their site updated to 3.5 and everyone will know the changes that have taken place, the new features, and how to use everything, right?

Okay, probably not.  Don't fear!  WPMKE is here to save the day!  Two of Milwaukee's WordPress Super Heroes will be presenting about what you need to know on the latest version of everyone's favorite CMS.

Brad Parbs (@bradparbs) and Dustin Filippini (@dustyf) will give a run down of the latest and greatest advances in the world of WordPress, so you don't have to follow along in the #wordpress-dev IRC chat on a daily basis to know what is going on with the latest version of software that powers your website.

Brad Parbs (BradParbs.com) is a Freelance WordPress developer and Internet Rockstar.  He literally wrote the book on "How to Be Awesome", has created plugins in the WordPress Plugin Repo, spoke at multiple WordCamps, and is a core contributor in WordPress 3.5.

Dustin Filippini (dustyf.com) is a WordPress Developer with the Milwaukee WordPress Development Firm, The Orion Group.  He is an organizer of the Web414 and Milwaukee WordPress Meetups and assistant organizer of WordCamp Milwaukee and has spoke at multiple WordCamp events.

I like this hangout idea though. Saves me three hours of travel time. ;) Hopefully next time it will be more sorted out and we remote people can have a way to participate (aside from the Twitters)

Sorry about the technical issues. We had inadvertently invited everyone as a presenter rather than an attendee in the Google Hangout. It was a mess.

I've never had an issue finding parking, as long as you're there a few minutes in advance.

      Street parking. Free after 6pm.

Be sure to leave plenty of driving time tonight. Since it's one of the first times that driver's are seeing snow this year, head down early and drive carefully. See you tonight!

lol. Still trying to grasp all the features in the current WordPress, and we have a new 'more features' version about to launch. Well we can get on the bus or get rolled over by it!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
