Hi WordPress Fans,
Because this was such a popular presentation at WordCamp Milwaukee, we want to revisit the topic in July. This event will be most palatable to the aspiring or professional WordPress designer or developer. We will discuss best practices, basic functionality, security solutions, and advanced development with WordPress frameworks.
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 7:00PM to 8:30PM @ Bucketworks
Dustin Filippini says:
"I've started customizing the Roots theme to use as our framework going forward. http://www.rootstheme.com/ It has the HTML5 Bolierplate built-in as well as Twitter Bootstrap, some microformats, and cleans up some of the URLs nicely."
Mike Zielonka says:
"Each time [we do this presentation] the Q&A is really what gets the discussion going because we each bring a different viewpoint to the table. ... I'd love to go head-to-head against Heather with:Real Dev's Build From Scratch versus Never Reinvent the Wheel Again".
Heather Acton says:
"I intend to do a writeup for the framework comparison, taking into account cost, support, child themes, ease of use.... I can definitely do an anti-framework talk at this point. I got burned by some recent Genesis updates, so the point got drilled in even more."
