Memorial Day Weekend Hike and Play at Nashotah Dog Park

For those that would like to explore the trails, we can start with a 1-mile loop and take it from there. Or feel free to just come on by the dog park and play! Please comment whether you will be hiking or not, so we know what to expect.

Let's all meet near the drinking fountain that is by the parking lot for the small dog area, in front of the new restroom building. This will make it easier to gather. Hike will be at 10:00. The hike is on a wide path (unpaved) with some ups and downs, and one slightly larger uphill toward the end. If there has been rain it can be muddy in places, but parts of the path are covered in wood chips.

If you don't want to hike, please still gather with us as above so that we can all meet up as a group. When the hikers take off, everyone else can mosey over to the dog exercise area. Hikers may join in afterwards!

In case of heavy rain, we will likely reschedule.

There is a park entry fee of $4.00 (new for 2013), unless you have an annual Waukesha County Parks sticker ($28; $14 for Seniors 60+).

A great morning to walk. Glad to give the pups some trail time - Bristol's debut! Dogs did well together and Remy and Kringle instigated some dog 'tag' in the dog park afterward. Looking forward to next week!

Note: The default Google map does not show all of Nashotah Park, and can be misleading if you are new to the Park. The main entrance is off of Highway C.

From Highway 16, go north on C, and the entrance to the Park will be up a little ways, just past Maple Lane, on your left.

After you enter the park and pass the entrance hut, turn right, and follow the signs to the small dog exercise area.

Here's a link to a Bing map, which might be helpful:

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
