Time to get Fido out to the dog park

Nashota Dog Park (Small Dog Breed Area)
We will meet at the first bench by entrance, please introduce yourself and hope to meet fellow members and their doggies.
--------------------------------
Note: We have over 439 members currently. So I will be posting various locations and hopefully demographically hitting some popular dog parks and dates. However it will be impossible for me and my dog Rainey and Jim and his Cairn group to attend every event. I ask if anyone can help to host or suggest dates (and times) if the times I listed are not feasible. Note: see comments of the Select A Leader event - Jim and I are trying our very best to accommodate all of our members.

Pongo, Nashotah is my regular park as well. Riley and I have see our share of tiffs as well. However, like Diana mentioned Nashotah has many regulars that seems to keep the dogs more calm. Plus, all three of us have terriors. In which can be a little unpredictable in itself :) Pongo I hope your feeling well soon.

Rainey and I used to go to Nashota a lot, we did discover Ryan dog park so maybe I can add that dog as another event - it just hard now that we don't live in that area any more but be great if you and Diana would host the Nashota events, let me know

We couldn't make it quite at 2:00, so not sure if anyone came and left before we got there. When we arrived about 2:20, no one was there (in the small dog area) -- not too surprising with all the wind! The sun came out though, wind lessened (a little) and a number of people and dogs did start arriving. We asked around, but none were from the Meetup group as far as we could tell. The dogs bonded pretty quickly for not having met before. Lots of fun and happy energy. A great "random" meetup.

Sorry to hear about your toe. No fun! And so sorry that Rainey got attacked. I've been hearing about many dogs getting attacked lately which is very sad. Kringle was attacked last week too, by a dog that has attacked several dogs over the past two years, so I know what you mean about having to pick and choose when visiting dog parks. I live very close to Nashotah Park, so we know many owners and dogs, which makes it very nice. On weekends, there are more "non-regulars" who come out, so it can be a mixed experience. I like that Nashotah park has trails; if the dog area looks chaotic we can still enjoy the park by taking a nice hike.
