Meditate at the Astoria Bookshop

Come down to the Astoria Bookshop to breathe, get curious about our minds, learn the basics of mindfulness, and practice meditation with the community.

The evening will consist of guided meditation practice, a talk/discussion on a topic related to mindfulness, and plenty of time for questions and discussion with the group.

No previous experience with mindfulness or meditation necessary.

This month's teacher: Emily Herzlin

$5-$10 suggested donation.

About the teacher:

I have a deadline so I can't make it tonight. But please keep me posted on the upcoming meeting dates and times, and congrats on finding another home for summer! I'm gone for the month of June but can't wait for July & August. Thanks!

    Enlightening!

Regarding the weekly meetings, I would like to take part but my attendance would be kind of scattershot. Is that OK, or is it important to commit to attending every week?

That is totally ok. Classes are drop-in!

Unfortunately I can't make it because my husband has to work late and I can't find anyone to watch my twins... I am so bummed.

Sorry to hear that, Kelly. We will be having weekly meetings in Astoria over the summer starting in the beginning of June, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to come practice with us soon. Looking forward to it.

Hi everyone! Very much looking forward to our meeting tomorrow night. Please note that there is a "waitlist." Basically, if you are on the waitlist, you are welcome to come if you don't mind sitting on the floor. Please allow those who RSVP'd to grab seats first before taking a chair. (If you have a pillow or cushion or a mat you'd like to sit on, feel free to bring that for yourself!) Tomorrow night I'll also give more details about our weekly summer series! See you all tomorrow.
