Bear Down & Mingle Around ________Downtown_______

Join us for another blast as we cheer the Bears to victory over the Tennessee Titans this Sunday at noon!

This is the season not to miss as the Bears are 6 -1 and hold the number 1 place in the NFC North Division. The hosting Titans, meanwhile, are third place in their AFC South Division and are coming off a loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Will Cutler's sacks top last week's six by the Panthers?
Will our defense continue to give our own offense a run for its money?

Come find out! Eat, drink & feel the energy with a few new friends this Sunday at Noon!

Early RSVP's are appreciated as we scout for attendance, cozy accommodations and the best drink deals... Location coming soon!

Sunday away games in the loop means no traffic, workable parking & smaller crowds!

Unless things change dramatically, we'll meet at the Hunt Club. Probably time to get on with our Saturday. Ill keep you up to date... and someone needs to teach me how to check in at events, cause I can;t figure it out. But anyway, for now, the Hunt Club.

Chuck check out Fat Pour in Wicker Park as well. Great food and great beer selection.

James, we've gotten some interest in Wicker Park... so not this one, but maybe the next game.

You're right, The Hunt Club sounds better! Good idea!

    November 3, 2012

  • Chuck R.

The Hunt Club is a great backup... they can accommodate us all together in the upstairs area with the projector screen, or we can mill about on the main floor. Further, they're available whether we reserve or not. Food was great last I was there. So if I don't hear from the Pour House, I'm thinking Hunt Club.

I've just emailed the event coordinator in addition to leaving her a message last night. I called the Pour House, but reservations this big must go through the coordinator for Bears Games. They said she was pretty responsive to emails. I'm working on a back up location as well.

The Pour House accepts reservations for 5 or less over the internet, and 20 or more via phone. I called last night and left a message, but haven't heard back. Ill try them again now.

I haven't done one of these before, but look forward to coming. If you decide not to go to pour house, let me know. Thx!

So far, Laura's suggestion of the Pour House is in the lead for me. Not sure about parking, and I suspect some of what looks like really delicious food might be a bit pricey, but it sounds like a good place to watch a game.

The Pour House is in my 'hood- street parking is usually pretty easy. The food is good and so is the beer. Warning- it is SUPER loud in here- but a ton of fun!

Yes, I saw your Yelp review... think they'll hold a table or shall arrive early and fight people off with toothpicks?

Hey Chuck, Not sure if I'll make it, but here are 2 other venues to check out: Emerald Loop (downtown) & Theory (River North--nice beer list).

    November 2, 2012

    • Maureen

I'm not the best at estimating capacity, so you might want to call Emerald Loop or check their website (part of the Vaughn group I think). They often host sports related events, so I would think it's big enough.

well I've seen pictures... I definitely want to check this place out soon, one way or another!

    Where is this Meetup happening?

We're working on that Tim... the Hunt Club, Mother Hubbard's and Piece have made the list so far. The numbers don't look huge here, as they have been before, so I'm not as worried. What neighborhood works best for you?

looks like a nice place. Depends on how many people care about it being in the loop. Definitely next time if not this one.

      November 1, 2012

  • Chuck R.

Lets try this... list a venue right here as a suggestion. Try to think of spots with an open layout and enough space.

I'll run them down as we decide the neighborhood. Illl put the first one in:

    Hunt Club 900 N. State

If we're voting, I'd love River North / surrounding areas. Either way, looking forward to it!

    October 31, 2012

    • Chuck R.

Maybe not a vote, but I'm taking all suggestions. There are a few spots in River North I wanted to try. Seems Sunday night games might offer a bit more flexibility cause people aren't already in the loop for work as with Monday games.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
