This is a very valuable gift for our organization and will allow us to take more of our dogs and cats to adoption centers. This will equal more adoptions and the ability to save more animals!
The contest has also brought together many of our wonderful rescue friends in support and we thank them: Forsyth Co. Humane Society, Angels Among Us, PAWS Atlanta, Petco Foundation, Good Mews, Lifeline Animal Project, Black Cat Rescue, Leftover Pets, Friends of Cobb County Shelter Animals, and so many more.

July 4th Safety Tips for Your Pets
July 5th is the busiest day for most shelters around our country. Here are some tips for keeping your pets safe during the festivities:
1. Keep pets indoors. If you are having company, keep pets in a room that is off limits to guests. Make sure there is plenty of food and water.
2. Keep it calm. Surround dogs with favorite toys and familiar objects. Play soothing music and close doors to keep it quiet.
3. Keep a barrier. Even if dogs don't seem upset by the noise, getting too close to fireworks can cause burns and eating them can be toxic.
Lets keep our pets safe this July 4th! And if you see a lost/confused dog, please stop and help it to safety.Furkids Receives 10,000 Grant! Furkids is excited to share that we have received a $10,000 grant from VCA Charities to aid us in our efforts to rescue and rehabilitate animals from kill shelters. This represents the largest individual gift ever given by VCA Charities and Furkids is very honored to be the recipient! VCA Antech established VCA Charities to benefit the safety of animals around the nation. Lemonade Stand for Furkids
Furkids would like to thank our friends, the Barnes sisters, Maddie (10) and Mallory (7) for hosting a lemonade stand in their neighborhood to benefit our animal shelter! It is always great to see young people doing for others and giving back to their community! Furkids welcomes children of all ages to volunteer at our shelter and Maddie and Mallory love to come and socialize with our 200+ cats. If your family is looking for something different to do this summer, come in from the heat and visit with our animals - its fun - and free too!
