Kipper is a social butterfly but Benny, as a rescue dog, was a little more uncomfortable around big dogs.
Kipper is Shih Tzu/Bichon/Yorkie Mix born on April 27th, 2006 while the Flames were in the playoffs. Benny is a Bichon born in November 2005 that we adopted from the Humaine Society when he was 3.5 years old.
Kipper loves pretending he's border collie and will do anything for a treat. Benny just wants to tote around his toy mouse and get ear rubs.
Bruce and I, with our Bichon Shih Tzu, Kipper, have been members of this group since its inception in Sept 2006 and Kipper absolutely loved going to the Meetups. We adopted Benny, a Bichon, and we think he'd enjoy attending with Kipper.
Bruce and I, with our rowdy rovers Kipper and Benny, love family outings and Mini Mutts is the perfect destination, especially during our long cold Calgary winters. It's hilarious watching all the dogs making friends and having so much fun together.
I think this meetup group is providing an important service to small dog owners. The little guys and girls need to play off-leash as much as any dog but often are overwhelmed by bigger dogs. Kipper has made several friends at the meetups already and comes home from each meetup tired but content.
