Hey guys, I started a thread on the main MinnSpec board where all of you can keep us updated on your project: http://www.meetup.com/MinnSpec/messages/boards/thread/39734032/#[masked]

A lot of wonderful energy at the meeting. I'd suggest when the stories for the anthology are polished that each writer send their story to a few of the appropriate markets listed in Ralan: http://www.ralan.com/index.htm. Many of the magazines take email submissions and get back to authors very quickly--often with comments. If folks are interested in the anthology's commercial prospects it could be a good gauge.

Exciting meeting. Feeling jazzed.
I am very interested and I look forward to an update of the plans. I am home sick today and just not feeling up to going out tonight.

Neither a big short story reader or writer, so I'll bow out of this one.

Okay, so I'll be bringing everything I've researched about timelines and costs and whatnot, so make sure to have questions ready (or send me a message early so I can have answers right away) and we can see about getting this rolling. Also, if anyone knows a publishing group I should check into, let me know as well so we can see what options are available.

I just saw a disussion on the MNSPEC log about a possible conflict with GPS. GPS is a non-profit group, and if we sell the book for profit, there may be a conflict. I don't know the relationship between MNSPEC and GPS, so I can't speak to this issue in any detail, but the people who did the two anthologies for MNSPEC seem to think it might be something to address. I attended a meeting with some of these people planning a third anthology. A member of GPS was there, and he thought it might be a concern.

Bill, I don't think people need be concerned. I posted in the thread: http://www.meetup.com...]
Cool. You guys are going to be making your own anthology? Let us know how it goes!
We're just in the proposal stages, but it looks like there's a lot of interest.

Janice. I just threw out some dollar figures and a way to fund an anthology in Michael's thread: http://www.meetup.com...]

Hi guys. If you have any questions about how Northern Lights and Sky-Tinted Waters were put together, just ask.

Thanks, Mike! Since we're just starting, we may have to take you up on that offer!
