West Metro Shorts is a new workshop group devoted to short fiction (stories under 7500 words). We will start with some flash fiction exercises before critiquing members' submitted work. As an experienced slush reader for Apex Magazine, I can also offer my advice for submitting your work to professional markets and making it through the slush pile.
Here's the thread for submitting files for critique:

NOTE: If you would like to attend, but have trouble getting to this location, please contact me. I can either change the location to something more accessible or find someone who could give you a ride. Also let me know if you'd like to attend but the date/time doesn't work for you.
A short of mine (or two) should be ready in the next week or so. What day is the cutoff for submitting for critique?
Since we don't have any submissions yet, I extended the deadline to the 7th. I have a piece to submit myself but haven't had a chance to finish my edits. It's been a crazy hectic week!
I should have one ready to submit by the 7th. It won't be pretty, but it'll be done! (:
I should have one ready by the 7th as well. Looking forward to meeting this group

Sarah, I would be interested in this group. The location would work okay for me. I can't make this one but hope to participate in the future.
