Dignity Twin Cities is a local chapter of Dignity USA ( www.dignityusa.org). We meet on the second and fourth Sunday of the month at Prospect Park United Methodist Church, which is found at the corner of Malcolm Ave SE, and Orlin Ave SE, just south of University Ave, and in the shadow of the "witch's hat" watertower in SE Mpls. We are across the street from the Pratt Community Center.
The doors open at 5:00pm and liturgy begins at 5:15pm. On the second Sunday we usually have Mass led by an ordained Roman Catholic priest. On the fourth Sunday of the month we usually have a woman lead us, and this is often one of the local Roman Catholic Womenpriests.
We are a small faith community creating safe space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Catholics. We welcome their families and friends. We love having straight allies visit as well.
In 2012 we are suggesting that all Catholics wear rainbow colors ( a button, a ribbon, shirt, hat, scarf,....anything) to Mass each . Sunday to show support to lgbt Minnesotans and opposition to the effort] by the Catholic bishops of Minnesota to codify marriage discrimination against us in the state constitution.
