Get ready for our Stockton Island 2011 trip! Our 2009 trip was a huge good time and a smashing success.

Details are still emerging, and I will post them as soon as I have them worked out, but it will basically work the same (with minor differences perhaps) as our trip over July 4th, 2009.

Our group will camp overnight near Bayfield, WI on July 7th. We will take the Stockton Island Ferry in Bayfield out to Stockton promptly at 8:30 AM on July 8th. We will spend 4 nights on the island and will return on Tuesday July 12th in the afternoon.

The registration fee includes 4 nights of camping on Stockton and the shuttle both ways. There will be a small additional fee for our Thursday night campsite, once I get those details ironed out.

Bringing a kayak or canoe to the island on the ferry is highly encouraged (the sea caves are great!!!) and will be an additional fee per boat of $21.20 RT that can be paid to the shuttle company the day of the trip. Last year I believe we had 4-5 boats, and more would have been much better. I suggest renting them from REI and bringing them up rather than renting them from the outfitters in Bayfield, but that's just me. Please do your own research as to the Bayfield outfitters' policies on rentals (most or all require a water safety class or something like that before they'll rent.) If you're bringing a boat, please note this in your RSVP, as I have to reserve space for it on the shuttle! If you don't note this, you may have to leave it behind if the shuttle becomes full, which it usually does.
