FIRST MINNESOTA QUEEN GAMES & GMT GAMES Board Games Get Together!

The First Minnesota Historical Wargame Society and Minnesota Board Game Get Together are teaming up to bring you a great board gaming event with something for everyone! Queen Games offers a wide range of very popular euro games while GMT Games offers an equally wide range of popular historical and war games. The SOURCE is giving us their game room for 8 amazing hours to teach & play! Lots of time for a lot of short games or for some long ones too.

So, board game enthusiasts, and addicts too, this is the low, middle, and high down on the next Minnesota Board Game Get Together! Two game companies, doubling the possibilities and the fun! As in the past we will be demo-ing and having available games from both companies, and with gamers to demo/teach them. Some of the more popular Queen Games you may be familiar with are; Alhambra, Kingdom Builder, Lancaster, Amerigo, Templar, Shogun, Edo, Escape:The Curse of the Temple, and Wallenstein, while GMT Games is famous for; Command & Colors; Ancients, Combat Commander, Paths of Glory, Fading Glory(Napoleonic 20), COIN SERIES, Dominant Species, No Retreat!, and Sekigahara.

AND ........... there will again be drawings for PRIZES! Door Prizes, Pre-Registrants, and Participation in # of games and/or game duration! Plan now, so you won't miss this spectacular board gaming event; one that provides an opportunity to learn and play new or different games, be intellectually challenged, and socialize with others! Oh, and have FUN too!!!!!

NOTE: If you are interested in teaching/demoing a game from either of these companies please get in touch with me. NEW teachers are always welcome and appreciated! Or if there is a specific game from either company that you wish to learn and/or play, also please let me know! Take care & stay warm!

Carlton and I will head over after the matinee performance of Hope's school play. So we'll be later arrivals, but still happy to join in whatever's going on!

So Spencer, I couldn't quite tell from your posting whether or NOT you are available on Saturday afternoons? Of course I certainly hope you are, but if not maybe just drop by at 11:00 to say hello and check things out. Have a wonderful week and I'd like to meet you on saturday.

Well Carrie we'll love to see you playing Amerigo on the 8th and probably a number of other fun Queen games!

I also have the game but if more than one group would like to play it would be nice to have a second game available. So you, Vinegar Strokes, and anyone else attending should feel free to bring whatever Queen or GMT Games they'd like. Let me take this time to remind current members, and send out an invite to potential members, that on March 8th, from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., at The Source Comics and Games, in Roseville, we will be running our next BIG Event! The First Minnesota Queen & GMT Games Board Game Get Together! There is no charge and door prizes will be given away every 2 hours. The Queen games that will be featured are; Alhambra, New York, Edo, Shogun, Wallenstein, Lancaster, Kingdom Builder, Amerigo, Fresco, Templar, and Thebes. There may be others and a number of the above mentioned games will have their expansions available too! So, please drop on in for some challenging board gaming fun and good old social interaction.
    Excelsior!

I'm not sure you need people to bring games, but I could bring Amerigo if anyone is interested.

Lynell, we're going from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., so hopefully you can squeeze us in. We'd love it you could make it again, and bring the kids along too!
    Take care.

My daughter's school play is that day, so I don't know if I will make it or not. RSVP-ing as a "NO" for now.

Looks like I'll be able to make it after all. I can bring the 2 Queen games I own, Thebes and Fresco with all the expansions.

I'm joining the meetup group but I can't attend March 8. Too bad, because Queen makes some of my favorite games, but I had already registered for MarsCon. See you guys at COTN!

Nooo! I'm probably going to be out of town that weekend. I was really looking forward to this when Bill mentioned this at the last tournament. There's still a chance I can make it, in which case I could bring and teach Thebes and Fresco from Queen.

Deb, if you only have a couple feel free to bring them.

I know I have Thebes and Alhambra - not sure what else I have that might be Queen.

I'd love to attend as I really like a lot of Queen Games and GMT Games. Unfortunately, I have some good friends who are getting married that day. Hopefully there'll be another one on a date that I can attend...

    January 26, 2014

    • Richard L.

Maybe, just maybe, you and some of the wedding party could enhance the experience by squeezing in a game or two? Just a thought! Hope to see at a future event!

      January 26, 2014

  • Dave R.

Marking it on the calendar. Will have to see if I'm available as the date closes in.
