The purpose of this group is to help musicians find other people to play chamber music with. If you play violin, piano, cello, flute etc, and are looking for other musicians to play chamber music, this group is for you. Although there will be concert events occasionally listed on the calendar, that is not the main focus of the group.
The one requirement for being a member of this group is that you play chamber music - doesn't matter what level as long you play and enjoy it.
This is a gathering place for chamber music players of all levels and experience. If you are looking for duet partners or maybe even thinking of starting a quartet, this is a place to connect with others with a similar interest. If you are a beginner, you'll find support and encouragement here, if you're a more advanced player you'll find opportunities to connect with other players at your level. If you're a teacher you may find this a good resource for your students to find other players.
The way this group works is as follows: You can find and connect with other musicians in several ways -
1) attending one of the monthly 'social hours' on the group calendar, or 2) simply browsing through the list of members in the Members tab for this group - you will see members listed with a description of the the instrument(s) they play - you can then click on their profile and then send them a message. One way to have a first meeting with another member would be to invite them to join you at one of the monthly 'social hours', or perhaps arrange to meet at a concert event ( I suggest everyone also join Twin Cities Orchestra Concerts meetup group).
