The Art of Social Commentary – With Twin Cities Writer, Kristine M. Holmgren
Beyond the landscape of memoir, past the temperate comfort of fiction and essay, await the dangerous lands of social commentary.
Only the most courageous writers prowl this sometimes frightening terrain; where ideas and attitudes blend with well-crafted prose to inspire, compel and provoke the reader to action and emotion.
For over ten years, Kristine M. Holmgren’s controversial commentary graced the editorial pages of the Star Tribune. Her work has been published in the Boston Globe, Baltimore Sun, Los Angeles Times, and Chicago Tribune. Her nonfiction essays are anthologized in two collections. Holmgren is a regular commentator for National Public Radio’s All Things Considered and a popular keynote speaker.
