The Lowertown Concrete and Grass Music Festival is a free outdoor event held at Mears Park, downtown Saint Paul. The festival is a unique partnership of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, Ordway Center, Schubert Club and the Twin Cities Jazz Festival.
Concrete and Grass celebrates the opening of the performance season and includes a range of genres, including: jazz, opera, chamber music, rock, dance, roots and world music.
I might make it at 5PM for Alison Scott. She is not listed on the web, but from going Thursday night she's listed on the card.
From 7:30 to 8:30 I'll be taking in Studio Sendero who will be doing flamenco and fusion belly dance showcase for Lowertown First Friday! Meet behind the JAX building (253 E 4th St. #502, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55101). They will be performing on the loading dock. If you are Facebook this is the link for the event.
From there I will walk over to catch 8:30 P.M.. Lucy Michelle featuring Chan Poling and John Munson on the Mear's Park stage. I'll head over towards the grassy area near Face's and behind the stream that goes diagonally through the park.
If anyone has saved seats, text me so that we can join you. [masked]-0613.
Afterwards we could stop at the Heartland (289 E 5th St, St Paul) for a drink.
http://www.heartlandrestaurant.com/ or I am up for suggestions. Face's, Barrio are both on Mear's Park and Alary's is a few blocks away on 7th. You may not need a drink since they do sell beer, wine and food in Mear's Park.
