New Player Meeting

  • to
  • This location is shown only to members

  • This meetup is to teach basic underwater hockey skills and rules to new players. It is meant to introduce new and interested players to the basics of Underwater Hockey. Underwater Hockey is fundamentally different than any other sport and can be initially confusing. This meetup is designed to help get over the initial hurdle.

The New Player Meetup is a presentation. We don't start until everyone is present, or until we give up waiting.

If you RSVP for a new player meetup, show up, and show up on time. If you don't show, and don't contact us we will remove you from the group.

If your plans change then update your RSVP or call or text me (I will have provided you with a contact number before the meetup).

The following video gives a primer on what Underwater Hockey is:

It is required that new players attend a New Player Meetup once before scrimmaging.

    Basis plan for meetup.
    a) Meet in the lobby area of the pool and go over the games rules and equipment. (1 hour)
    b) Go to pool and get familiar with equipment and do some basic drills and some easy scrimmaging. (1.5 hour)

We provide the hockey gear, you need to bring the following

    - Swimsuit and Towel
    - Optional pair of (clean!) sweat socks. This can help protect your feet from chafing on the fins.
    - Optional shampoo.
    - Optional lock for locker (If you don't have one, you can lock your stuff with another team member)
